A pub is set to rock after winning a music makeover competition to the tune of £5,000.
The Market Inn in Faversham, Kent, has spent the cash on a new PA system, staging and a backdrop as it ups its live music output further.
It won the prize in the Music Makeover competition organised by PRS for Music and the British Beer & Pub Association.
Licensee David Pott, pictured receiving the prize, recently re-focused the pub’s entertainment offering from sport to music and is set to expand on this.
He said: “The prize money has been a great boost for the pub and the community and we have put it to good use. This will put The Market Inn firmly on the map for music. We’re already receiving demos from local bands who want to play here.”
And to celebrate the win the pub held an open mic night with performances from bands including Get Carter and The Hoots.
