The Licensed Trade Charity wants volunteers to visit people across the country to provide support and information.
The charity currently has 25 active volunteer visitors, but needs more, particularly in Staffordshire and in the South East.
Volunteers commit to between four and eight hours a month in a role that involves visiting and talking to people and then writing up simple, factual reports. Full training is given and all out of expenses are covered.
Jenny Booth, a long standing volunteer said “you just need to be good at listening, all the necessary training is provided and we have mentors around the country who are there to help with any questions you have”.
A marketing campaign about the service was launched by Burton upon Trent MP Andrew Griffiths and Punch Taverns director Jackie Burn.
