Beefburgers are the number one item on menus across the food sector with pizza and fish and chips taking the other two podium places.
The results in Horizons’ Menurama report are based on the meals that appear most frequently on pub and restaurant menus in the UK.
Chicken burger and rump steak make up the top five with curried chicken, sirloin steak and sausage and mash also making the top 10.
Horizons’ Paul Backman said that although not reflected in the top 10, world food is continuing to grow in popularity.
“Menus are changing as people become more adventurous, travel more and look for those foods when they come back,” he said.
There has also been an increase in the amount of vegetarian options on meals. They now account for 19 per cent of items on menu, compared to 14 per cent two years ago.
