Women are more experimental then men after a main meal, according to research by ice-cream makers Movenpick.
A survey by the Swiss company released as Valentine’s Day approaches reveals that when it comes to dessert women are more keen to try different flavours and textures whereas men just want something to fill them up.
Both sexes can be nostalgic when it comes to dessert, with men and women agreeing that ice-cream reminds them of childhood.
Movenpick’s Julia Jones said: “Sharing desserts are ideal for couples, as they offer plenty of scope to satisfy male appetites, while providing a selection of different tastes and textures to engage female diners and encourage their male companions to leave their comfort zone.
“Special occasions are about the complete dining experience and customers are often more inclined to opt for a sweet treat when they have something to celebrate."
